Site Descriptions

Site numbers are references to locations on the Master Map

  • Site 1, 15'X 11' behind church parking lot
  • Site 2, Small site, southern intersection of Salish(21) and Spanish(23) - 15m X 15m site. Possible access from Acadia & College Highroad (QUIET - residential area) Park and/or access at church (site 1)
  • Site 3, Large site east of trail, behind school, parking nearby, Large trees, vehicle access by request, fire permit may be given if required
  • Site 4, Wooded site above roadway 23'X 20', parking nearby. Stay in cleared area only.
  • Site 5, Roadside, wide open clearing, few trees, vehicle access by request, parking across street, fire permitted, Must stay clear of salmon spawning stream and don't make mud (clogs the spawning channel). Toilet at roadway.
  • Site 6, Plains of Abraham, walk in site, large grass field, fire permitted in existing fire pit only, must bring your own wood and water.
  • Site 7, 30'X 24' Big, Open, Lumpy, parking nearby, fire permit may be given if required (fire on trail only), toilet at roadway.
  • Site 8, 27'X 18' north side of Spanish(23)trail, lumpy, dirt, trees, Access limited by distance from road. Can be accessed from Tasmanian Cres. in evening only if residential area is respected.
  • Site 9, 30'X 21' 4 way intersection, bench, smallish, flat wide trail, 3 bare trees in middle, tarps, fire permit may be given if required
  • Site 10, 15'X 24' 3 way junction of Lily of V(13), Salal(20) & Vine Maple(26), smallish trees, parking nearby (quiet - residential area), fire permit may be given if required
  • Site 11, NE corner of reservoir, Hotdog site, large three way junction, park bench, toilet, vehicle access by request
  • Site 12, NW of reservoir open or in woods, fairly level, vehicle access by request, suitable for wide type activities, hot dog stand?, fire permit possible (may be given if required)?
  • Site 13, 15'X 15' and 15'X 24' separated areas 4way junction of Huckleberry(11) & Top(25) trails, flat wide trail, vehicle access within 150m (from reservoir) by request - trails towards Imperial must be blocked off to NiteHike participants.
  • Site 14, SW of and on trail at intersection of Sasamat(22) and Huckelberry(11),
  • Site 15, 33'X 33' clear, trees, lumpy, tarps, road and parking nearby, vehicle access within 50m by request, Fire permit may be given if required
  • Site 16, Imperial(12) at Hemlock(9) west intersection, wide right of way road, vehicle access by request. Fire permit
  • Site 17, Intersection of Imperial(12) and Powerline(18) 3 way wide open big flat muddy road no tarp, vehicle access by request, fire on trail only. Stay on road.
  • Site 18, intersection of Imperial(12) and Iron Knee(32), stay on trail, No fires
  • Site 19, Small intersection of Council(4) & Douglas Fir(6) 15'X 15', parking nearby at BCR
  • Site 20, Trail intersection Council(4) & Iron Knee(32) beside open lumpy ground with spaced large trees,
  • Site 21, Large 3-way intersection, west of creek at Salish & Iron Knee, 10 minute walk from 16th Ave. Could use wheeled cart/dolly or poss. vehicle access from 16th Ave.
  • Site 22, 27'X 24' 3 way junction of Nature(15) & Deer Fern(5), sloped rocky tarp? (must stay on trail) fire permit may be given if required
  • Site 23, Small site on Salal (20) trail half way between Cleveland (2) and 16th Ave. Close to road. (stay on trail)
  • Site 24, GVRD Office parking lot, power by request, portable toilet on site (office toilets locked), Do not block water tap, Fire permit may be given if required
  • Site 25, On Salish half way between Heron and 16th Ave. Wide open uneven ground with some logs under trees. Keep to cleared areas only. No fires
  • Site 26, Trail junction at intersection of Council(4) and Hemlock(9) trails.
